The all-new, 2.3-liter i-VTEC turbocharged, the first turbocharged engine (other than European-market turbodiesels) for a Honda or Acura street vehicle, four-cylinder makes 240 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque and is mated to a five-speed manu-matic transmission with steering wheel mounted paddle shifters. Acura’s Super Handling All Wheel Drive system is standard. Acura insists that RDX is actually built by an “all-new global light truck platform,” not on a variant of the Honda CR-V platform. We assume the company will elaborate on that assertion in due time.

Acura Advanced Sports Car Concept

The Acura ‘Advanced Sports Car Concept’ will make its debut at the 2007 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The concept provides a glimpse at the next generation Acura exotic sports car.

Acura Advanced Sports Car Concept

Acura Advanced Sports Car Concept comes with a front-mounted V-10. A new version of Acura’s Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) will favor the rear wheels but the front wheels go into action when the first inevitable four-wheel power slide happens.

2009 Honda Accord Euro Acura TSX

Honda has released few teaser images of the new 2009 Honda Accord Euro (aka Acura TSX in the US). The teaser images showed some similarities to the Honda Accord Tourer Concept revealed last year at the Frankfurt Motor Show. We can see that the images revealed the station wagon version.

It was reported that the new Honda Accord Euro will be powered by 2 version of petrol engines i.e. 2.0-liter and 2.4-liter and also by a 2.2-liter diesel engine. The engines will also be Euro 5 compliant.

2009 Acura RL Facelift

Acura has released for the first time the facelifted and redesigned Acura RL at the 2008 Chicago Auto Show. The 2009 Acura RL will be available for sale this spring in the US and it features new look, advanced technologies and a more powerful new engine.

The 2009 Acura RL will come in 3 versions, the RL, RL with Technology Package and RL with Technology Package Plus CMBS. According to the press release, all 3 versions will have the new 3.7-liter V-6 engine, Super Handling All-Wheel Drive, a Bose Surround Sound audio system, Bluetooth HandsFreeLink connectivity and a GPS-based solar-sensing climate control system as standard.

Meanwhile, the Technology Package comes with the satellite-linked Acura Navigation System with Voice Activation with rearview camera, AcuraLink Real-time traffic, AcuraLink weather, Traffic Rerouting, a rear view back-up camera, Active Front Lighting System (AFS), ventilated front seats, and a wood/leather steering wheel and shift knob.

Volkswagen Touareg R50The new Volkswagen Touareg R50 will be unveiled at the Australian International Motor Show (AIMS) Sydney next week, 11 October to be exact.

According to Volkswagen, Touareg R50 will be the most powerful SUV in the world. It was developed by a team of specialists at Volkswagen Individual GmbH

The Touareg R50 is based on the current V10 TDi model but the power is increased on the 230 kW (313 hp) and 750 Nm torque.

The Touareg R50 is fitted with bigger wheels, tires and tweaked suspension complete the high-performance package. The new exterior and interior is also designed to reflect the R philosophy.

Volkswagen New United Special Edition ModelsVolkswagen has come up with the new “United” Special Edition models comprises Polo, Golf, Golf Plus, Touran, Sharan, New Beetle, New Beetle Cabrio and Jetta with price advantages of up to 3,300 euro..

Volkswagen will the “United” name to the “Volkswagen United Masters”, Germany’s biggest indoor soccer contest due to be held in 35 towns and cities around the country next spring. The Polo, Golf, Golf Plus, Touran, Sharan, New Beetle, New Beetle Cabrio and Jetta “United” will be the special pitch-side line-up.

The package, depending on the model, features air-conditioning, a multi-functional steering wheel, a parking pilot and fog lights, cruise control and an automatic driving-light system with the “coming home and leaving home” function.

Driving assistance will be provided by the “MFA Plus” on-board computer in the Golf, Golf Plus and Jetta United. The Golf and Golf Plus United come with a RCD 210 radio.

To differentiate the “United” versions from the standard models is the “United” logo situated on the side section at the rear of the vehicle. Other than that, the Golf and Golf Plus are painted in exclusive Heaven Blue Metallic and also the Golf, Golf Plus and Touran comes with 16-inch “Mugello” alloy wheels.

At the interior, the middle sections of the seats, feature the new “Surprise” design, and leather versions are available for the gear-shift knob and the hand-brake lever. The United vehicles also come with sporty accessories such as a Nike football, sports bag and towel.

Among all the “United” models, the Golf United BlueMotion is the most efficient and the most environmentally friendly vehicles in its class of all times with a price advantage of 2,312 euro. The Golf BlueMotion United consumes 4.3 liter of fuel per 100 km and its CO2 emissions is only 115g/km.

The performance of the Golf United BlueMotion could be achieved after the proper modifications to the engine, longer gear ratios in the third, fourth and fifth transmission levels, a cd-enhanced underbody, and a practically closed-off radiator grille.

ABT Sportsline Volkswagen TiguanApart from the AC Schnitzer BMW M3 E92 making its first appearance at the 2007 ESSEN Motor Show, ABT Sportsline Volkswagen Tiguan will also make its debut at the motor show.

The ABT Sportsline Volkswagen Tiguan increases power to the 1.4 TSI from 150 hp to 200 hp, the 2.0-liter Turbodiesel from 140 hp to 170 hp and the 2.0 TDI engine from 170 hp to 200 hp.

With the power upgrades, new suspension system (adjustable suspension system) and new brake system are also introduced to the ABT Sportsline Volkswagen Tiguan.

The modified Volkswagen Tiguan from ABT will feature aggressive bodykit which includes front and rear spoiler, fender extensions, side skirts, a new grille and also various sizes of alloy rims ranging from 18 inch up to 20 inch.

Volkswagen Tiguan R Line
Volkswagen unveiled its R Line range such as the Golf, Touran, Passat and Touareg last year at the Essen Motor Show. This year at the same motor show, Volkswagen will debut its Volkswagen Tiguan R Line.

Three official images of the Volkswagen Tiguan R Line were released on the internet and we can see it features sporty interior and exterior.

The official information will be available after the official release at the 2007 Essen Motor Show in Germany.

Volkswagen Passat R36 is after the only the second model in the Volkswagen line-up to carry the ‘R’ badge after the Golf R32. The new car will be not only the fastest Passat but also the fastest estate car produced by Volkswagen.

The R36 comes with a new 3.6-liter FSI V6 engine producing 300 bhp and together with the six-speed ultra-responsive DSG gearbox channeling drive through all four wheels to maximize traction.

It claimed it can go from 0 to 62 mph time of 5.6 seconds but electronically limited to maximum of 155 mph.

Gripping the driver and front seat passenger are a set of sculpted sports seats bearing the R36 logo. The dashboard is finished in brushed aluminum panels set into which are a set of unique dials joined by a sports steering wheel and bespoke ‘R’ polished pedals.

Equipment levels, as with the standard Passat, remain high with ABS, ESP (Electronic Stabilization Program), Xenon headlights, 2Zone electronic climate control, a heated windscreen and seats, six airbags and a radio/CD player.
